Evangeline is a detective trying to get by after her husband was killed leaving her pregnant. She's trying to remain stoic but everyone else is calling her cold. A high powered lawyer is killed and she's trying to figure out who did it and if it had anything to do with her husband's murder. A HUGE mystery that's outside of her husband's case is also thrown in and it totally threw me for a loop. Great book. I've read her Graveyard Queen books and this one is just as good. I would recommend it.
